In the previous episode of Tamdhu times two I tried two Tamdhus and today I will too, in Tamdhu times two II.
First off, their standard 15 years old, and then a luxurious 34yo distilled in 1967(!). I do like to spoil myself from time to time!

Review of sample bottle (4cl, €7,99 from HomeOfMalts)

Elegant sherry, citrus (orange), cinnamon and custard, touch of leather, rubber, and resin. On the palate, not so very sweet, balanced oak tannins, the sherry is not overbearing, but bring characteristic stewed fruits, and gooseberry in the finish.
Thoughts 💡
A great sherry full-maturation that isn’t of the modern ‘sherry overcoat’ style.
Worthwhile and enjoyable ✔️

Review sample from Bad Homburg Whisky Fair 2023 (2cl, €30)
Experience ⚡
Exotic nose of candied tropical fruits (papaya, pineapple), prunes and old oak wood and sherry notes including resin, leather, soft baking spices (vanilla, cinnamon). A lot spicier than expected on the palate! Intense dried fruits, orange oil, rancio, and a bit of liquorice in the slightly bitter finish.
Thoughts 💡
Old and dignified, deserving of more than a 2cl sample to tease out the complex notes within. It is an incredible whisky, unmistakably well-matured in a way that I find difficult to describe in words and hence cop out with a reference to rancio. But for some inscrutable reason I didn’t get that strong emotional response that leads to my highest award (❤️), despite the profile being right up my alley.
Worthwhile and enjoyable ✔️
